FISH believes in the importance of lifting the literacy levels in Indigenous communities and the importance of celebrating language and culture.
Story telling in community has the power to increase cultural understanding and arouse emotions that can lead to action and change.
FISH would like to see all children across Australia have access to the same opportunities to access books and education language resources. We have been actively supporting teachers, schools, community groups and carers access culturally appropriate resources for many years.
The FISH Books for All Initiative will enable FISH to continue to deliver books to Communities and to children and families who do not have access to books, especially culturally appropriate books.
